The Columbian Stamps & Their Subjects

The 1893 Columbian Issue are the first commemorative stamps issued by the United States. This eighteen-page booklet provides an overview of the subjects chosen by the US Post Office to commemorate Columbus's exploration of the American Continents. It also shows examples of each stamp and describes their purpose within the 1893 mail rates.
